La escuela ense\u00f1a a hablar, leer y escribir, pero no ense\u00f1a \u00a0el valor comunicativo y expresivo del silencio. Ni el ni\u00f1o ni el joven est\u00e1n preparados para el silencio. Para ellos, el silencio es algo extra\u00f1o, insoportable, que hay que cubrir enseguida de palabras y de ruidos. Lo identifican con el castigo. \u00a0No llegan a comprender que el silencio no consiste meramente en callarse, sino en fijar la atenci\u00f3n en algo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El silencio es la cuna de la palabra aut\u00e9ntica.\u00a0 As\u00ed como la pedagog\u00eda de la palabra resulta completamente necesaria para describir el mundo, la pedagog\u00eda del silencio es absolutamente imprescindible para contemplar el mundo e interiorizarlo. En cierto sentido, la pedagog\u00eda del silencio es previa a la de la palabra. La palabra que nace del silencio es una palabra s\u00f3lida, consistente y firme. Sin silencio, sin reflexi\u00f3n, las palabras se convierten en mera ch\u00e1chara hueca, en ret\u00f3rica inflada y vac\u00eda. Por no saber habitar el silencio, nos volvemos tan superficiales,\u00a0 nos dejamos conducir por propagandas, \u00f3rdenes, gritos o seducciones de cantos de sirenas, y nuestras palabras, con demasiada frecuencia, son falsas o \u00a0expresi\u00f3n de \u00a0emociones nocivas como el rencor, la rabia, la ira, la envidia\u2026.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">S\u00f3lo en el silencio es posible la contemplaci\u00f3n. Contemplar no significa s\u00f3lo mirar atentamente la realidad, sino distanciarse y fijarla en la retina del esp\u00edritu. La contemplaci\u00f3n, como ya lo manifest\u00f3 Arist\u00f3teles, es el preludio de la filosof\u00eda. Filosofar significa describir la realidad en su intimidad y su profundidad. El silencio nos posibilita contemplar\u00a0 nuestra interioridad, convertirnos en espectadores de nuestras vidas, nuestros actos, nuestros pensamientos. Al observarnos en silencio brota con fuerza la pregunta radical \u201c\u00bfqui\u00e9n soy?\u201d, tan esencial para conducir nuestras vida por las sendas de la profundidad y la autenticidad. A su vez, la contemplaci\u00f3n silenciosa del mundo exterior nos sumerge en el misterio que se oculta en todo: un rostro, \u00a0una sonrisa, una flor, una monta\u00f1a, una mariposa, un arroyo, o el firmamento cuajado de estrellas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El silencio permite tambi\u00e9n la contemplaci\u00f3n n\u00edtida y transparente del otro. Es muy diferente observar un rostro en pleno di\u00e1logo, en plena conversaci\u00f3n, que observarlo en silencio, calladamente. La contemplaci\u00f3n silenciosa \u00a0posibilita descubrir su extra\u00f1eza, su misterio, su radical humanidad,\u00a0 su absoluta dignidad.
